Dear Brother,
I received thy letter six days from the date whitch informed us how you gotalong home and a little of your helth whitch we were glad to here from likewis that thy sone James[2] was abought shiping som peaches for us.  Just as I had finished reading the letter the keg of peaches came to hand one of our merchants had ben up to Cole Mill(?) found a keg there marked for me he was so kind as to pay the expences and take it along with him we were very glad to receive it but were sorey James had to take so mutch labor to get those suitable to send but I hope he has received the same satisfaction in sending of them that I have in giving them a way here we ate but a very few ourselves we handed them round from one to a dozen in a place and now a little account what order they were in it appears that there were two kinds for in one end of the keg they were all rotten abought one third of the way up the rest perhaps abought one third rotten the remainder in good order and now Dear Brother & Sister when you here a little of what has taken place heare you will not expect help from here at lest in the quarter that you look for it.  Paneful as it is I have to inform you that Brother Solomon B Boss[3] is wonse mor a widower yes his companion is gone very suddin and unexpected the same week on sevent day she and two of Solomon’s girls Lidy and Mary got into a one horse wagon and went about two miles Rasbering they got about one bushel of berries on their return homewards they wer desending quite on a hill the horse on a fast trot one of the wheels struck a stump broke the axel threw them all out the girls were considerable hurt Lidy had her Coler bone broke they are quite smart now but poor Ann(?) she never spoke after she fell from the wagon she lasted about three hours thus we were coleduppon to consine one to the grave that was a little before in the Bloom of life She has been suden coleduppon to render up her account to him hoo has said ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you with his believing as I do that we must all must give an account to him that sees not as man sees.  I there for crave that each of us may be found watching for the good master having our lamps trimed and burning that he may say come ye blessed inherit that witch is prepared for you.   Mother and Fany is now at Solomons they are smart for them Sarah Boss keeps his house they are all as usual.  Naomi is with us yet she sets no time when you may look for her in Galen her helth is mutch inproved since she come here the rest of our family is as well as we can expect to be the rest of our friends is surely well please to remember us in Love to all the Branches of the family tell them we should be glad to have letters from them likewise should be glad to see them here                                                                                                                                                                             Benjamin Boss[4]

PS we had a long job of moing had fifty five ox loads of hay bushels seling two acres of grass for ten Dolars on the ground we had frost here the same time you did witch ? corn and Potatoes on low land my corn and Potatoes is green yet been in my garden no frost tutch them yet
